Matthew 6:14-15 CEVDCUS06
If you forgive others for the wrongs they do to you, your Father in heaven will forgive you. But if you don’t forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
The one thing that so many of us struggle with being able to forgive those that done us wrong, either physically or emotionally. The bible talks about forgiving others as we ourselves are not perfect and if we screw up because of anger or deceit we would want others to forgive us, yet what we want for ourselves we don’t give to others. Forgiveness is also a form of healing for our soul, which is needed once your hurt. Without forgiveness it like reopening a wound over and over, leading to infection. That how hurt gets us, we ponder on the situation and find blame at times even in ourselves, which can be just as destructive, as this will lead to a self-esteem issue and depression. Also hurt can lead you to look for revenge and this becomes a cycle of more pain for more people. Someone has to be strong enough to stop the cycle and start the healing process, let that person be you.
